San Bartolomè itself is located not far from the Vega Baja hospital, about a 20 minute car journey from Orihuela and 25 minutes from the nearest beaches at Guardamar. Everything is accessible by foot and there are a handful of great family run tapas bar and restaurants. There's a supermarket also, and in the summer time the municipal pool and gardens open, which is where families and friends meet to enjoy the long summer days.
